DSE successfully brokered a licensing agreement between Entenmann’s and a nationally recognized ice cream manufacturer.
DSE’s vision was to extend the brand from its well-known bakery lines into the ice cream market. Understanding that leveraging the company’s existing brand identity was the key to success, David Edelstein launched the ice cream products to include elements of that “premium-quality baked goods” identity.
Initially the launch included the Brownie Sundae Sandwhich (shown at top right) in single-serve packaging which DSE successfully placed in C-stores in the Northeast region. As the line picked up momentum, the offerings were expanded to include a 4-pack and a bulk 24-pack.
The key to licensing success is the ability to deliver a product to the consumer that transcends the brand to another sales channel.
